Taal in Beeld bestaat uit een open fotocompetitie waar alle taalwetenschappers verbonden aan een Nijmeegs academisch instituut (van MPI tot RU tot Donders) aan mee kunnen doen. De mooiste foto’s worden in de tweede helft van 2013 tentoongesteld op een mooie locatie in Nijmegen.

A Picture of Science is an open photo contest for all language scientists connected to a Nijmegen academic institution (from MPI to Radboud to Donders). The best pictures will be featured in a public exhibition in Nijmegen in the second half of 2013.

We have an independent, international, interdisciplinary jury, consisting of the following experts.

  • Prof. Dr. Anneke Smelik (Radboud University) is a Professor of Visual Culture. Her research focuses on memory and affect in visual culture and on multimedia literacy, among other things.
  • Eric Kellerman (Eric Kellerman Photography) held appointments in the departments of English and Linguistics at the Radboud University.  In 2008, he retired from academia to become a professional photographer.
  • Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Klein (MPI for Psycholinguistics) is a renowned expert on language, literature and aesthetics, and was a driving force behind the newly established Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt.

The jury is assisted by the organisers.
